Flat Stanley

This past weekend, Flat Stanley went to the North Carolina mountains:

He visited the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway:

He also got to ride on a train through the mountains:

He’s now back in Raleigh and will be returning to Mississippi shortly!

Flat Stanley’s adventure isn’t quite over yet! He is back in the USA, but before he heads back to Mississippi, he’s headed to the Appalachian Mountains. He will be visiting Robbinsville, NC. He will get to spend some time on the Cherohala Skyway. There will be pictures to detail his journey next week. Once this journey is done, he will adventure back to Raleigh, NC and will then travel by mail to Mississippi.

Today, Flat Stanley is in Guildford, United Kingdom. Guildford is located just outside of London. Flat Stanley is only here for 3 days before he heads back to the United States.

Today, Flat Stanley was a busy adventurer. He got to ride in an Autorickshaw, go to the Pune market, and then go to Shaniwar Waada.

Shaniwar Waada is a palace that was built for a great Indian of the Peshwa family. The palace was built in the 1700s, but was destroyed in a fire that burned for one whole week in the 1800s. Here is Flat Stanley in front of the last standing part of the palace:

Today, Flat Stanley visited an office in the Marigold Complex in Pune, India. He got to see a different part of Pune. Here are the pictures of his visit:

Today, Flat Stanley is in Pune, India. He hasn’t travelled too far from his hotel. He would like to share with you two pictures which show the view that he has:

He also got to visit Mount Coot-tha in Queensland, Australia. This is a mountain that overlooks Brisbane.

Today (February 13, 2007), Flat Stanley arrived in Brisbane, Australia. Because of the time differences, Tuesday in Australia is Monday in Mississippi.

Brisbane was rainy and very humid today. It’s summer in Brisbane, and February is usually the warmest month.

Flat Stanley visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary today. Here, he got to see koalas, kangaroos, and lots of birds. Since it was raining, it was hard to take pictures of Flat Stanley. He took cover in a binder. Here are pictures from Flat Stanley’s visit. If you don’t see Flat Stanley, it’s because he was tired of getting wet!

Today, Flat Stanley took a tour of Raleigh, NC. Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina and is known as the “City of Oaks.” Flat Stanley visited a huge acorn!

Flat Stanley also visited the North Carolina Capitol.
